Bruce Knott has accepted the position of Human Resources (HR) Director for the City of Cibolo. After rounds of interviews, Knott was selected from more than 40 applicants to serve in this capacity. His anticipated start date is May 23rd. The HR Department is responsible for the management of the City’s workforce through the attraction, selection, training, engagement, assessment, and recognition of employees. In his role, Mr. Knott will provide leadership and direction on human resource matters, including leading the City’s employee engagement efforts that are currently underway.
Knott was previously serving as Executive Director of Human Resources and Facilities for the San Antonio River Authority (SARA). In his 10 years with SARA, he worked to improve safety, talent management, and compensation and benefits for all employees. Most notable was his work in building and documenting a culture that led to low turnover and high employee engagement.

Mr. Knott served in the U.S. Air Force from 1986 to 2006, serving in a variety of Human Resources and talent management positions. During his service to our nation, he received many accolades and awards to include multiple Meritorious Service Medals.

Prior to coming to Cibolo, Knott began his career in Human Resources in 1986 and has worn many hats during his career. Prior to entering a Municipal setting, he was the Adjunct Professor for Virginia College. There he instructed and mentored future business professionals in a diverse curriculum group. He also served as the resident expert in all Human Resources and Business areas.
