Tracy Beekman Announced as Cibolo’s New IT Director

Tracy Beekman has accepted the position of IT Director for the City of Cibolo. After rounds of interviews, Beekman was selected from more than 70 applicants to serve in this capacity. His anticipated start date is January 10th. This is a vital position for the City of Cibolo to plan, organize and direct the City's Information Technology (IT) Department including infrastructure, internal operations, security, VoIP, network systems, emergency communications, and emergency notification programs.

 

Beekman was previouslyBeekman Headshot serving as IT Director for the City of Duncanville. In his 10 years with Duncanville, he worked tirelessly with staff to forge a new path to help better the city through the use of technology.  Most notable was his hand in the implementation of a new ERP software and move to improve the mobility of City staff in response to emergency situations. Beekman also planned, organized, and deployed major systems changes to technology infrastructure to include migration of City systems to a virtual environment.

 

“It’s an honor to have been chosen to serve the City of Cibolo staff, residents, and community,” stated Beekman. “I am excited to join the dedicated team of this growing City and look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work on the IT infrastructure and needs of Cibolo.”

 

Mr. Beekman served in the U.S. Navy from 1993 to 1997 and was a Hospital Corpsman. He completed his enlistment at Naval Medical Center San Diego.  During his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal.

We are excited to grow with Mr. Beekman on board.”

 

Prior to coming to Cibolo, Beekman began his career in Information Technology in 2001 and has worn many hats during his career. Prior to entering a Municipal setting, he was the IT Manager for the data center of a multi-region newspaper outlet. There he was responsible for managing uptime of all servers, network connectivity and security for all regions, and managed several projects for implementation to a new advertising billing system, centralized graphic arts design software, and automated printing press software. He has been a technical trainer, quality assurance tester for software development, and has authored multiple policy and training documents throughout his career.
