[ARCHIVED] Water Update

The City of Cibolo, as well as Green Valley Special Utility District, receive the majority of our drinking water from the Canyon Regional Water Authority treatment plant located on Lake Dunlap as well as the treatment plant located at Wells Ranch. CRWA has had and continues to have issues with rolling blackouts, affecting their ability to produce drinking water and pump it to their customers. At this time, CRWA has resolved most of these issues and are now resupplying both Cibolo and Green Valley SUD water tanks. At no time during this weather event has the City of Cibolo lost water pressure or flow into our system. As part of our operating procedures, we maintain approximately 2-days’ supply of water in our elevated tanks – 4 million gallons. Green Valley SUD has experienced water outages and significant pressure drops in our city as well as in the rural areas around Cibolo. They are working as fast as possible to fully restore pressure and flows to their customers. The city has offered our assistance to Green Valley SUD, if needed. We do ask that all of our residents help us by limiting their water usage as much as possible and turning off their water service if they suspect a leak (conserving water). We can assist any Cibolo water customers with a water service turn-off for broken pipes. Please call the Schertz Police Dispatch Center at 210-619-1200 (non-emergency number) and they will contact our team so we can respond. Thank you, in advance, for your patience, understanding, and support.
