Road Closures

Street closures for construction activities or events are listed weekly. Road projects affecting streets and sidewalk closures for 3 days or longer are listed below and removed when the road is reopened. Emergency road closures will be reported in real-time during situations like flooding or icy roads.

Haeckerville Rd at IH10

Friday, March 3 at 8 AM to Tuesday, March 14 at 5 PM
Road closure at the end of Haeckerville Rd. will have a detour down Bolton Rd.

I-35 Northeast Expansion (I-35 NEX) Central Construction Project (provided by TxDot)

Speed limits have been reduced to 55 mph through the entire I-35 NEX Central project limits while the project is under construction. 

FM 1518 to Loop 1604 - Southbound

• Sunday, March 12 until Saturday, March 18, 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Alternating lane closures on southbound frontage road closure of I-35 from Olympia Parkway to Gateway Boulevard for temporary pavement, striping, and barrier work.

• Sunday, March 12 until Saturday, March 18, 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Alternating lane closures on the southbound frontage road of I-35 from Evans Road to Olympia Parkway for striping, barrier work, and temporary pavement work.

• Sunday, March 12 until Saturday, March 18, 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Southbound I-35 entrance ramp closure from Old Austin Road to Forum Parkway for striping and barrier work. Traffic must use the Forum Parkway turnaround and follow detour signs.

• Sunday, March 12 until Saturday, March 18, 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Alternating lane closures on eastbound and westbound Olympia Parkway at the southbound frontage road of I-35 for striping, barrier, and temporary pavement work.

• Sunday, March 12 until Saturday, March 18, 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Alternating lane closures on eastbound and westbound Old Austin Road from Chippewa Boulevard to the southbound frontage road of I-35 for striping, barrier, and temporary pavement work.

• Sunday, March 12 until Saturday, March 18, 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Multiple right lane closures (2) on southbound I-35 main lanes from Forum Parkway to Ferrell Road for striping, barrier, and temporary pavement work.

Loop 1604 Interchange - Southbound

• Sunday, March 19 until Saturday, March 25, 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Alternating lane closures on southbound I-35 to westbound Loop 1604 connector ramp for striping, barrier, and temporary pavement work.

• Sunday, March 19 until Saturday, March 25, 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Eastbound Loop 1604 to southbound I-35 connector ramp closure for striping and barrier work. Traffic must exit at IKEA-RBFCU Parkway and follow the detour signs to southbound I-35.

• Sunday, March 19 until Saturday, March 25, 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Westbound Loop 1604 to southbound I-35 connector ramp closure for earthwork. Traffic must exit at Lookout Road and follow the detour signs to southbound I-35.

• Sunday, March 19 until Saturday, March 25, 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Southbound I-35 to eastbound Loop 1604 connector ramp closure for striping, barrier, and earthwork. Traffic must exit at westbound 1604 and follow the detour signs to access eastbound Loop 1604.

• Sunday, March 19 until Saturday, March 25, 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. Closure on the southbound I-35 collector ramp at the Loop 1604 interchange for striping, barrier, and construction entrance work. Traffic must use Loop 1604 (exit 172) to access southbound I-35 and follow detour signs.

Upcoming Long-Term Closures
• Monday, March 20 Through Thursday, May 18 long-term closure (24/7). Exit ramp closure of southbound I-35 to Randolph Boulevard. Traffic to use the temporary ramp.

• Monday, March 20 Through Monday, December 04 long-term closure (24/7). Alternating lane closures on southbound I-35 frontage road between Thousand Oaks Drive and Whirlwind Drive for roadway reconstruction and structural work.

Loop 1604

• Wednesday, March 22 Through Monday, April 17 long-term closure (24/7). Westbound to eastbound Loop 1604 turnaround closure at Lookout Road for demolition work.

FM 1103 Construction (provided by TxDot)

March project updates:
• Underground drainage work crossing FM 1103 and Old Wiederstein Road has begun and should be completed within two weeks.

• Paving of the northbound lane of FM 1103 between Orth Avenue and Green Valley Road has been rescheduled for late March.
• Underground drainage is scheduled to be installed across FM 1103 near I-35 in mid-March.
