The City of Cibolo cannot forbid door-to-door Salesman, Peddlers, or Solicitors, however the city has enacted an ordinance to regulate certain persons who engage in these activities.

City Ordinance 1030 which was adopted in 2012, defines Solicit as:

  1. Request a donation of money or other thing of value
  2. Sell or attempt to sell any item for money or other thing of value

Soliciting Violations

The ordinance makes it a violation to engage door to door soliciting under the following conditions:

  1. It is unlawful for a person 17 years of age or older to solicit an occupant of a residential dwelling:
    1. Without first obtaining a permit issued by the city;
    2. At any time on a Sunday, New Year’s Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve Day or Christmas Day;
    3. Before 9 a.m.; or after 6 p.m., or sunset, whichever is later.
    4. Listed on the No Solicitation Registry or has a "No Solicitors" sign posted on the residence
    5. At a location other than the primary entrance to the residence.
  2.  It is unlawful for any person other than the permit holder to use or wear any permit or badge issued under the provisions of this article.
