Look at the area around FM 78 and Main Street... The traffic flow would be much easier and would not disrupt our community and impact the safety of our children.

When it is raining, please ask the service to close the lids after they dump the trash or recycle cans. For the elderly and disabled it very difficult to overturn the cans to empty the water.

I would like to see the city build a dog park. There are many dog owners in the city and this would be a great way to get our dogs the exercise they need and also meet new people in the city.

The small, but lovely, downtown of Cibolo (Emily's, Catalano's, Harmon's) is a fantastic face for Cibolo and was a draw for me as a resident. Revitalizing and expanding the small, unique business area in downtown Cibolo would create a strong draw for new residents while helping create an identity for Cibolo, instead of fading away into obscure suburbia.
The construction of the Walmart and HEB at either ends of Main Street will be detrimental/catastrophic to many local businesses (especially a small local grocer), but is inevitable. A downtown revitalization program that includes entrepreneurial assistance, permitting and inspection cost breaks for locals, sidewalk expansion, and demolition or refurbishment of the older, abandoned buildings in the area could do a lot for the character and economy of Cibolo while assuaging those angered by the Walmart construction.

The White House, Texas Capitol, and many other entities have beautiful custom brass ornaments made each year. They make great keepsakes for generations to come, and they can be made each year to commemorate something historic or interesting in our community. The profits could be used to fund things like playground equipment, beautification, etc. They could be sold year-round, and promoted through the city newsletter, website, or sold in local shops like The Mill, or Emily's, at events like Octoberfest, or at the City Hall windows. They would also make nice and inexpensive rewards/gifts to be distributed as the City Council sees fit. Designs can be simple or elaborate according to budget. See one vendor website: http://thecharlestonmint.com/brass-ornaments/

It's a shame a shared-use path similar to the one on Schertz Parkway could not be included on Cibolo Valley Drive. With HEB, Walmart, and other business moving to the FM 1103/Main Street area, it would be extremely attractive for me as a resident to be able to go to those destinations without having to get in my car, but also not having to ride my bike with the car traffic on the windy Cibolo Valley Dr. It would also be a huge help for the children that will be walking or biking to school or even just the joggers. If FM 1103 gets expanded, I hope TxDOT or the City of Cibolo will make a concerted effort to accommodate all modes of travel. A comprehensive network of bicycle routes and accommodations would be a good message to send...that you want the citizens to get outside, be active, and be healthy by making your shopping trips on bike or foot.

The Unified Development Code (UDC) is the primary guide to development within the City of Cibolo. The purpose of the UDC is to promote the public health, safety and general welfare of its citizens as well as the safe, orderly and healthful development of the city. It incorporates procedures, standards and regulations for zoning as well as subdivision applications. The adoption of the 2016 Comprehensive/Master Plan and development continuing at an accelerated pace has triggered the need to update our guidelines. As part of the public input process, the redlined UDC will be posted online soliciting public comments for approximately 30 days. This would be walking/running/biking trails that would connect different neighborhoods and commercial districts together. Right now, while the city is expanding is the best time to invest in trails that would connect to people's sidewalks and housing communities for recreation and transit.
Trails encourage health and wellness, green spaces add value and beauty to the community. Studies have shown that well maintained, trail investment adds value to community and personal property, and the farther the trails go unobstructed the higher the value is raised. Investing in an extensive network of walking/running/cycling trails now is an investment in the cities future, 30-40 years from now.
As a suggestion, the city could purchase flood plain land and construct a trail system that connects with Main Street. Businesses would benefit, and the health and safety of the community would improve from the investment.

Design a beautiful city flag for Cibolo. With these rules in mind.
Keep It Simple – A rule of thumb should be that a child should be able to draw it from memory.
Use Meaningful Symbolism
Use Two to Three Basic Colors – These should come from the standard color set: red, blue, yellow, green, black, and white.
No Lettering or Seals – “If you need to write the name of what you are representing on your flag, your symbolism has failed. Also, because flags are seen at a distance, nobody can read the messages anyway.

There were low light emission pathway lights on the edges of the sidewalks at the last base we were at. These make it very easy to see without costing a lot of money, which meant streetlights could be further apart, further saving the city money and cutting back on light pollution. I suggest using LEDs because they rarely have to be replaced in the grounds on the sidewalks and walkways every 25 feet or so.
