City of Cibolo Welcome Police Chief Hugghins

Police Chief Hugghins with Mr. Herrera

The City received over a dozen qualified candidates for the Police Chief vacancy created with Chief Cox’ retirement. After a panel interview, Interim Police Chief Bryan Hugghins was selected as the new Police Chief for the City of Cibolo Police Department. Bryan Hugghins has worked for the City of Cibolo for the last 5 years as the Support Services Lieutenant. Previously Chief Hugghins served Comal County Sheriff’s Office for 20 years in a variety of supervisory roles.

“I am honored to receive this opportunity,” said Chief Bryan Hugghins. “I look forward to continuing our department’s relationship with our community, and enhancing our services via technological advancements.  We strive as a department to continue our climb up the Safest Cities list.”

“Being the ‘City of Choice’ means a lot to our residents,” said City Manager Robert T. Herrera. “Our citizens choose to live here partially because they know they are safe. Feeling safe makes Cibolo a comfortable home to many and selecting Bryan Hugghins as our new Chief ensures Cibolo continues to remain safe.” Chief Bryan Hugghins started his new role on March 24, 2018. The City of Cibolo will host a town hall meeting on April 17, 2018 from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Citizens are encouraged to come meet the new Chief at this event.
