Proclamation for Stevens Johnson Syndrome Awareness Month

The Mayor of the City of Cibolo made a Proclamation in recognition of “Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS)” at the City Council Meeting held on August 8th, 2017.

SJS affects more than two million Americans each year.  SJS is a skin reaction caused my taking medication.  It was first discovered in 1922 by two pediatricians after they diagnosed a child with “severe ocular and oral involvement to a drug reaction.”

Mayor Allen Dunn proclaims that the Month of August 2017 as “Stevens Johnson Syndrome Awareness Month” and call upon all citizens to show their support for the families coping with SJS in the City of Cibolo, Guadalupe county and communities all over the state.
